Both sides had to settle for a point apiece today at Gayfield in a game of very few chances for either team.
Alloa’s Kris Renton hit the post in the 18th minute with Alloa keeper Neil Parry doing well to come out for every cross that was thrown into the Alloa box.
Arbroath almost scored a goal early in the second half but a curling shot in a crowded box was just the wrong side of the post.
On loan striker Callum Smith was shown a straight red card in the 67th minute for a bad foul on Ricky Little.
Arbroath brought on Danny Denholm and Bobby Linn to give more of a threat down the wing but Alloa did well getting players behind the ball and nullified the Arbroath threat.
In the closing seconds Ryan Wallace closed in on goal but Neil Parry made a great save to deny Wallace.
Arbroath remain undefeated in the league in 2018 and travel to Stranraer on Tuesday knowing a win will push them into 3rd place.
