Arbroath FC Community Trust score their first big win
Arbroath FC Community Trust have their debut home win after securing 50 Christmas Hampers for the SPFL Trust Festive Friend’s Scheme.
Festive Friends is a very simple but hugely effective project which Arbroath FC have ran now for a number of years.
In essence socially isolated elderly people across our local area are offered a day together at Gayfield with transport provided to and from the club. This special day is filled with traditional Christmas Food and Games and with so many members of our elderly society without a family it is a perfect way to celebrate.
Unfortunately this year due to the ongoing global pandemic the social gathering aspect of it has had to be postponed, but we will still be sending out Christmas Hampers thanks to the grant secured by the Arbroath FC Community Trust to 50 individuals.
AFCCT chairperson Shelley Hague was delighted with the news “This is exactly the type of work we as the trust want to be delivering to support those in our communities – securing this funding from SPFL Trust at this difficult time for people was a key aim for us and we hope that the hampers bring some much needed festive cheer”
