Arbroath Community Sports Club join the Arbroath Player Pathway!
The Arbroath FC Community Trust is delighted to announce the Arbroath Community Sports Club (ACSC) have joined the Arbroath Player Pathway. Arbroath Community Sports Club were established in 2010 and have a strong history of providing grassroots football to both male and female players in Arbroath.
The Arbroath Player Pathway is a collaborative partnership between clubs and the Arbroath FC Community Trust designed to help football in Arbroath become more sustainable and to provide opportunities for all players who wish to play the game. Having ACSC on board means that the Arbroath Player Pathway provides football for girls and boys from 5 to 17 years old.
Trust Football Development Officer, Kevin Middleton said, “Having coached at ACSC, I know the platform they give male and female players at the grassroots level in Arbroath, so I am delighted the club has decided to join. With ACSC part of the pathway, we will look to continue their excellent work on the male side and strengthen their work on the female game. This will align to the Scottish FA Vision of accelerating the growth of the girls’ and women’s game in Scotland, which is exciting for the female players of Arbroath.”
Linda Webster, ACSC, said, “Arbroath Community Sports Club are delighted to be joining the Arbroath Player Pathway. We have recently worked with Arbroath FC Community Trust to encourage more girls into the game and the response has been phenomenal. It is an exciting time for football in Arbroath and we look forward to working with the Trust.”
Arbroath FC Community Trust Chair, Shelley Hague said, “Arbroath CSC are another excellent addition to the football pathway bringing with them a wealth of experience – creating a consistent approach in the area for players and coaches.”
SFA’s East Region Manager, Kevin Lee said, “Scottish FA have just released our 2021-2025 Strategic Plan ‘Power of Football’ where our vision is to harness the power of football to inspire the nation to transform lives and build a united and successful game. To deliver this vision we need the whole football family to work together to deliver ‘football for all’ and ‘football for life’ within their own communities. A strong and seamless player pathway from children, youth and into the adult game is vital for attracting a new generation of players into our game and promoting player retention and lifelong participation.
The collaborative work that Arbroath FC Community Trust and ACSC are doing to unite football for the good of their community and our national game is just fantastic. These are exciting times for football in Scotland and in Arbroath, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Arbroath FCCT to grow our game.”
