rbroath Football Club are delighted to announce Colin Hamilton and David Gold as our new Co-Player-Managers.

Since taking interim charge, they have guided the Club to an unbeaten run both in League One and the SPFL Trust Trophy, scoring 5 goals and achieving 2 clean sheets from 3 matches. Their winning mentally and passion for the Club has been clear from the start, both David and Colin have demonstrated that these exciting appointments are fully merited, both on and off the field as coaches and in their ability to attract quality players to the club and we are excited to see them continue in their new roles.

The Board said on the appointment, β€œAs Board of Directors, we are proud to announce the permanent appointment of both David and Colin as Co-Player-Managers of Arbroath Football Club. Initially appointed on an Interim basis, their proven ability, knowledge, and drive was a major factor in appointing them in the short term to help improve results and performances. Since taking charge of team affairs, we have collectively been extremely impressed by the level of commitment and attention to detail put in by both to take Arbroath FC forward. Everyone associated with Arbroath Football Club look forward to a successful future with Colin and David at the helm and wish them well in their new roles”.

AFC TV spoke with Colin and David this afternoon, Colin said β€œFirstly we’d both like to thank the board for the faith they’ve shown in us in making the appointment. We’re both honoured and privileged to take on the role and we’re excited for the future at the club. The fans have been incredible and we’re raring to go alongside them, the staff, the board, and the players with everyone pulling together to make this a great season.”

David added β€œAs Colin said, it’s a real honour to be given the role. I think as a coach, you always hope to one day manage the club that you love and where you’ve spent so much of your career and we’re both in that position now with an exciting future ahead of us. I’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who has reached out since we were given the interim role, other managers around the country, coaches, players, fans etc who have been great at giving us both advice. We’re heading down to Queen of the South on Saturday looking for a positive result for everyone connected to the club.”
