Welcome Greg Whyte
Everyone at Arbroath FC would like to give our new sports scientist Greg Whyte a very warm welcome to the Club.
Greg joined the Club in June and has been with us all throughout pre-season and supporters may have already seen him work with the players before matches and at half time.
Football runs deep for Greg who came through the youth ranks at Dundee United as a defender before having a career in the Juniors playing for Perth side Kinnoull FC, St Andrews Utd and Tayport where he also Captained the team.
For the past 10 years Greg has also worked for the University of Dundee at the Sport and Exercise Assistant.
Greg will work with the Management Team, Coaching Staff, Players and alongside Sports Therapist Craig Reynolds and Club Doctor Callum Innes.
The sports scientist role within the club is very important. Preparation with the players before matches, at half time and then after the game is crucial and perhaps most visible part of Greg’s job to supporters, but Greg is also active at training and then in between games making sure the players diet, hydration and overall health is monitored.
We would like to give Greg an official warm welcome to the Club and Arbroath Family!
