Arbroath came from behind to pick up a well-earned point against Partick Thistle at a windswept Wyre Stadium at Firhill.
Logan Chalmers put the Jags in front early on as the Lichties faithful feared the worst, but Findlay Marshall scored his second goal in three games after the break to secure a credible 1-1 draw in Maryhill.
There were two changes to the side that fell to defeat in Kirkcaldy last weekend, with Nikolay Todorov dropping to the bench and the injured Thomas O’Brien missing out completely. They were replaced by Ryan Flynn and debutant Brooklyn Kabongolo.
It took less than five minutes for the opening goal of the afternoon as Thistle moved in front. Scott Stewart managed to block a shot from the edge of the area, but the ball fell to Chalmers who curled an effort beyond Aidan McAdams.
Paddy Reading then went close with a powerful strike from distance that McAdams dived to palm away from danger, as the one-way traffic from the hosts continued in the opening 25 minutes.
The Lichties keeper had to receive treatment after taking a bang to the nose in a collision with Robbie Crawford and was immediately called into action after the restart, to stop a low effort from Chalmers.
Arbroath did show some signs of an attacking threat, with Taylor Steven heavily involved. His audacious attempt at a lob was the wrong option in attack, but he did go very close minutes later after being picked out by Kabongolo, as his deflected shot trickled just past the post.
The Lichties began the second half looking far more dangerous in attack and were rewarded with an equaliser just after the hour mark. Steven was again involved, rising in the middle to flick on towards Ryan Dow who managed to distract Josh Clarke into dropping the ball, allowing Marshall to stick the ball into the empty net.
Thistle were still causing bother of their own though, with Kyle Turner being denied by comfortable McAdams saves on several occasions.
There was somewhat of an end-to-end feel to the game towards the last ten minutes and the Lichties went close again, with Clarke on hand to deny a Todorov header and Jacob MacIntyre’s strike from distance.
Back down the other end, the Jags had a glorious chance to retake the lead when Chalmers was found in acres of space at the back post, but a poor connection with his strike saw McAdams turn it behind for a corner kick and preserve a positive point for Arbroath.
