Matchday Hospitality Vs St Johnstone 18/10/25

It was another vibrant Saturday in the hospitality lounges at Gayfield, where we were delighted to welcome RW Bell as our Match Sponsor and Ian Wren as our Match Ball Sponsor. All three of our hospitality rooms were full, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Guests enjoyed an excellent matchday experience, complete with a delicious meal prepared by Ashley and the team from Tutties.

There were plenty of special occasions to celebrate during the day. Bobby & Wilma Gold, long-time friends of the club, were presented with a card signed by the Arbroath FC team to mark their 46th wedding anniversary. Meanwhile, birthday pies were presented to Callum Thompson, Norman Fairweather, Graham Bews, and Graham Strachan, all valued supporters of the club.

No one managed to guess the Correct Score, so a draw was held. Martyn Simpson from Taylor Wholesale was the lucky winner of a St Thomas Bar & Arbroath FC Bar voucher, presented by Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall.
The Goal/Save competition generated plenty of excitement, with Nikki Webster taking home the prize from Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall. This marked the second victory for the Inverbrothock Playgroup table
The Caird Suite’s Man of the Match was once again Arbroath FC’s Midfielder Findlay Marshall, who received his award from guest Mark Edgar of E&O Fish, Kald by Redcastle and Arbroath Smokies donated by Gordon Spink.
In the Caird Suite, the afternoon kicked off with another round of Play Your Cards Right, once again hosted by Susan Spink and Mike Burnett. Congratulations to Iona Beaton, who took home the win and was presented with a St Thomas Bar & Arbroath FC Bar voucher by Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall.
For the Time of the First Goal competition, there was no outright winner, so a draw was held. Kerry Linton was the lucky winner and was presented with a bar voucher by Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall.

There was also time to celebrate a few special birthdays, as Mark Warner, Louis Davidson, Riley Davidson, and Jen Davidson were each presented with birthday pies by Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall.
In the Correct Score competition, Mark Warner who had travelled 500 miles to enjoy Arbroath FC Hospitality with his wife Kay, was the lucky winner and collected a bar voucher, from Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall.

Two special birthdays were celebrated in the MKM Suite. Alastair Wilson was presented with a birthday pie by Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall, while Stephen Carruthers of RW Bell, a valued friend and sponsor of the club, received an Arbroath FC top from our Chairman, Brian Cargill.
The MKM Suite welcomed our Match Sponsors, RW Bell, who had the honour of presenting the Man of the Match award to Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall. The award, presented by RW Bell Director Stephen Carruthers, included Kald by Redcastle and Arbroath Smokies, donated by Gordon Spink.
Judith Dingwall had an outstanding day, correctly guessing the match score of 3-1 to Arbroath and coming just one minute off with her guess for the Time of the First Goal. She took home an AFC golf towel, Arbroath FC mug, and playing cards, all presented by Arbroath FC’s Findlay Marshall.
One of the day’s highlights was welcoming back three Arbroath FC greats:
Danny Powell – signed August 1981, with 38 appearances and 4 goals.
Billy Gavine – signed May 1975, with 255 appearances and 45 goals.
Allan MacKenzie – signed May 1972, with 315 appearances and 15 goals.
They were joined by David Durno, a former player who signed in 1979 and is now a Trustee of the Arbroath FC Community Trust, and were introduced to guests by Scott Strachan, former Arbroath FC TV presenter.
Danny, Billy, and Allan visited each of the lounges, met with guests, and took part in a lively Q&A session, sharing stories and memories.
