Last Meeting:

Arbroath 1-1 Morton, Friday 23rd January 2026

The second meeting of these sides in Arbroath ended the same way as the first, as the Ton came from a goal down to earn a point.

A game that was ruined by swirling winds all around Gayfield throughout saw the Lichties move in front just before the hour mark as Aaron Muirhead scrambled the ball home.

Michael Garrity levelled matters with 12 minutes remaining though, converting Owen Moffat’s cross from close range.

One to Watch:

Owen Moffat

While yet to score in the league this season, Moffat leads the way in terms of assists for Morton with seven in all competitions, including on both visits to Gayfield.

He is the only player to feature in all 38 games this season and is one of the more direct, creative outlets in a team that otherwise struggles for goals.

Lichties’ Form:

It’s now six without defeat in the league for Arbroath after last week’s narrow win against Queen’s Park, but Morton are one of only two sides the Lichties are yet to beat having drawn twice at home and lost on their last trip to Greenock.

Arbroath matches have been devoid of goals lately, with as many red cards as goals in the last five games. While not scoring many, they haven’t been letting them in at the other end either with Aidan McAdams aiming for his fourth consecutive clean sheet this weekend.

Referee: Calum Scott
