The Lichties picked up their first victory of the year with Scott Robinson’s debut goal proving the winner in a five goal thriller at Starks’ Park.
Gavin Reilly opened the scoring from close range before Dapo Mebude headed a second home in first half stoppage time.
Rovers started the second half strongly though and pulled one back through Scott Brown’s thunderbolt, before Josh Mullin levelled the scores.
Arbroath weren’t to be denied though, and picked up all three points nine minutes from time when Robinson raced in on goal and stayed composed to find the net.

Easton is the only Rovers player to feature in every game in all competitions this season, popping up with 17 goals and four assists, including two strikes in their recent KDM Evolution Trophy Final win over Inverness.
Three of those assists have come in the Championship and remarkably, all have been against the Lichties with Easton instrumental in that part fightback in January’s clash, as well as Raith’s earlier 3-0 win in Kirkcaldy.
While every team will inevitably go through a bad spell of form in a season, Arbroath’s has come at the wrong time with three defeats in a row seeing the Lichties drop to fourth at the expense of Dunfermline, with Raith knowing a win on Saturday would see them move to within two points with just two games remaining.
Last weekend’s defeat at Ayr United saw Arbroath fail to register a single shot on target and means it’s now just one win in eight ahead of a tough run in.
One more positive result should all but secure the play-offs and having been in the top four since the start of the season, it would be a real disappointment to miss out at this late stage.
