W 4-1 vs Stranraer – 13th January

D 1-1 vs Airdrieonians – 10th January

Last Meeting:

Ayr United 1-1 Arbroath, Saturday 15th November 2025

Both league meetings between the two sides this season have ended in the same scoreline, with the home side coming from behind to earn a point on both occasions.

This last clash saw Arbroath take an early lead through Findlay Marshall’s low strike, but Kevin Holt’s tap in with three minutes to play saw the hosts level matters, despite an apparent foul on Tam O’Brien in the build-up.

One to Watch:

Mark McKenzie

In a team that have shared the goals around the squad this season, McKenzie leads the way with seven strikes in the Championship, including three in his last eight games.

Those goals have all come in Ayr victories, with the exception of the 4-2 defeat at home to leaders St Johnstone.

Lichties’ Form:

Arbroath are currently on a run of four games without a victory, exiting both the Scottish Cup and KDM Evolution Trophy in that time.

Both of those defeats came on penalties against fellow Championship side Airdrieonians, with that Challenge Cup loss on the third of February the last time the Lichties kicked a ball.

They’ll be hoping that 11 day break can help bring a return to form, heading into back to back matches at Gayfield.
