Despite being many people’s pre season title favourites, Ross County made a slow start to the campaign.
They have however showed signs of a turnaround in recent weeks and have picked up eight points in their last five games and currently sit 7th in the table

The start of September saw the Lichties make the trip to Dingwall to face County in league action for the first time since 2003, and the visiting support were sent home happy with all three points
Kieran Phillips’ dubious penalty had cancelled out Nikolay Todorov’s first half opener as the Staggies looked for their first win of the season. That was as far as their luck went though, with two disallowed goals coming back to haunt them when Declan Gallagher brought down Jacob MacIntyre in the box, allowing Aaron Muirhead to win it for Arbroath from the spot at the death

The Northern Ireland international is the Staggies’ top scorer this season with 10 goals, including six in 11 league games to take his total for the club to 28 goals in 57 appearances after joining from Cliftonville last year
He was called up by his country’s national side for the first time in March of this year, making his debut in a 1-0 win over Iceland in Belfast in June.
The 27-year-old made the SPFL Team of the Week after a goal and assist in the win over Dunfermline, and will be hoping performances like that help him to once again catch the eye of Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill
After the high of defeating St Johnstone in the last match at Gayfield, Arbroath slumped to defeat against Airdrieonians through an early Euan Henderson penalty last weekend.
That was just a second defeat in the last six games though and with the third best home record in the division, Colin Hamilton and David Gold’s side will be confident of defeating County for a second time this season to remain in the playoff places
