Welcome Mark Stowe
Arbroath FC are delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old winger Mark Stowe from East of Scotland Football League Premier Division Champions Linlithgow Rose on a two-year contract.
Mark who came through the youth levels at Falkirk before joining Camelon Juniors where he was Camelon’s top scorer before the season was ended early in the 2020/21 season.
It was then that he signed a pre-season contract with Linlithgow Rose where for the past two seasons he has been in incredible form. Playing on the wing or up front he netted an incredible 43 goals in his debut season before hitting 40 goals in all matches this past season.
The skilful winger has caught the attention of many clubs and we know that Mark will excite our supporters.
Arbroath Assistant Manager Ian Campbell spoke about the signing of Mark.
“Mark is a very good young player who scores a lot of goals. It is a big step up for him, but he has been a fabulous player for Linlithgow Rose at that level. We like him and we are going back to our roots where we want to give players a chance. We have done our homework on him. He is a good boy and he has a lot of talent and hopefully he will come in and jump into the way we play.
If you go into the DNA of our signing strategy, where I feel we got back into that in the second part of last season, we have done well over the years in getting the best out of players and bringing them on with the club. There are 5 or 6 who have grown with the Club and Mark is a player we have identified who we think fits that bill.
We learned a lot from last season. You aren’t going anywhere in life if you don’t learn. We have spent a lot of time with the recruitment team identifying players and we have 9 players coming in to training over the next few weeks that we all think can play in our team and we just have to figure out if they have the attitude if they can fit into our Arbroath team. It’s an exciting time and we can’t wait to get started again.”
We would like to give Mark a very warm welcome to the Club and we look forward to seeing him in action!
Welcome to the club!
