Arbroath vs Hibernian – Match Preview

Scottish Cup 5th Round – Season 2021/2022

Sunday 13th February 2022, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 12.30pm kick off.

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – GATES OPEN 11.15AM

Arbroath welcome Shaun Maloney’s Hibernian to Gayfield tomorrow for the 5th round of the Scottish Cup.

It will be an exciting match and is live on BBC 1 with Sportscene starting at 12.15pm with kick off at 12.30pm

The two sides last met in the Scottish Cup in 2015 again in the 5th round, where Hibernian came out on top 3-1 at Easter Road.

In their last visit to Gayfield, Arbroath came out on top in a 3-2 friendly in July 2019.

Hibernian have a large and talented squad full of exciting players and several internationals and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Manager Shaun Maloney has said there are doubts over Paul Hanlon, Kyle Magennis, Joe Newell and Harry Clarke whilst Paul McGinn will be give time to see if he is fit enough for tomorrow.

Arbroath will be without James Craigen who is serving his 2nd and final suspension but it is hoped Captain Thomas O’Brien has recovered from the ankle knock he suffered on Wednesday.

Arbroath should have a full squad available with new signing striker Michael Bakare coming straight into the squad and available for selection.

Gayfield should again be rocking with over 4000 expected which will be our largest crowd in several years.

It will be another extremely tough match but we hope you can get right behind the team from the very start.
